2004 or 2020?!

A post shared by Kristin Cavallari (@kristincavallari) on

People were buzzing about Jay’s chickens and his newfound insta fame and that took WAY too much attention off of Kristin and she needed to bounce back in a big way. This was a BIG bounce back. And also, the MOST obvious reach I’ve ever seen. Obviously these two bozos are not reuniting a dysfunctional teenage love. This snuggly pic was calculated AF and it’s just like the time The Hills producers told LC to invite Stephen to her housewarming party when the show was getting a little snoozy to spice things up and give viewers a reunion to ship. They teased that Stephen comeback for weeks and made all of the dodo birds that LC lived with ask her in-depth questions about her past with Stephen and if she thinks him coming to her housewarming will rekindle their love affair. It was ALL this buildup for a real friend zone ending. Stephen went right back to ruffling LC’s hair and calling her buddy. BONER KILL. Obviously I’ve always been over-invested in reality TV..but here’s the thing: Kristin removed herself from reality TV and therefore cannot use their storylines to boost public opinion of her. Also, these two STUNK as a couple. Stephen was always sneaking off to be with LC and Kristin was fo shiz banging whoever looked at her. Plus, let’s never forget Cabo.

cabo

Doesn’t matter how I feel about this PR move though…all that matters is how Jay feels and he went right ahead and deleted his Instagram. And honestly that’s the worst outcome that could’ve ever happened. Jay was a rising star on social media and was really coming into his own with content. And he let two little Laguna bitch asses ruin that for him. SCREW YOU STEPHEN AND KRISTIN.

2. THE BELLA BOYS.

I had originally predicted that these two would give birth on the same day (I assumed with the whole twin thing if one went into labor the other would feel the pains thus triggering their own labor…science) and you know what, I WASN’T FAR OFF! One day apart is basically the same day and wouldn’t you know it THEY BOTH HAD BOYS. Cue them trademarking the Bella Boys for future merch and business opportunities. Although these two are technically cousins, there’s no way they don’t grow up basically twinnies. I mean they live next door to each other and they’re one day apart. And those identical announcements?! I mean, come on. I assume their names will be unveiled in an equally as PR way and I’m chomping at the bit to hear them. Let it also be known that Brie posted her insta first and I was literally hawk-eyeing Nikki’s insta and having seen that she hadn’t posted in 3 days I KNEW she had her baby too. That’s the definition of UNWELL in celeb social media creepin. Proud of it, babe.

3. Burn City, Population: Megan Fox.

You know it’s been a slow news cycle lately when I’ve reported on Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green MULTIPLE weeks now. At first this was a super tame celeb breakup (probably because they’ve done it once before) but now the drama is heating up and I’m HERE for it. After Megan Fox started boning MGK and blabbed last week about how he’s her twin soul, it seemed like the gloves were off for Brian Austin Green. He was casj at the beginning of the week, saying in an interview that he found out about the two of them on his own and has tried to avoid social media because he doesn’t want to see or hear about it. He even reassured people critiquing her parenting that she’s a great mom and just happens to be shooting a movie right now. WELP. No more peace. Above is a post from Megan slobbering all over her new boy toy. Below is Brian AG trolling the shit out of it. Guess he’s no longer avoiding social media!

Achingly beautiful boys…… My heart is yours

A post shared by Brian Austin Green (@brianaustingreen) on

BOOM. ROASTED. Love a good petty post-breakup caption and this is perfect. Also kinda contradicting everything he said about her being a good mom but whatevs. And not for nothing, but get those kids into the modeling game stat–dreamy eyes and luscious locks will get them everywhere in life.

4. The Bachelorette DRAMA.

Screen Shot 2020-08-06 at 11.10.35 PM

Ever since I quit this circus cold turkey, I’ve observed from afar and noticed that fans haven’t become any less rabid for the orchestrated drama that floats around every season. This season in particular has been a doozy as it was halted for COVID, then BLM became too loud for racist ABC to ignore and they plucked a black guy who was supposed to be on the season that had started filming to name as the next Bachelor, then they started filming Clare’s season again and now apparently they’re bringing in a different Bachelorette to take over. Rumor has it that Clare found love immediately, didn’t want to play the game and tongue any other guys for TV so she refused to keep filming and they had to tap in a second girl to finish out the season. And IF that’s true, HOW OUTRAGEOUS. You’re already suspending belief by showing everyone two people who fall in love and decide to get married over two months of being in an open relationship and now you wanna tell us she did it EVEN FASTER THAN THAT?! Get the hell out of here with that fresh garbage. Either she was already communicating with this guy and he had a head start or we start betting on when they break up cause I AIN’T ABOUT TO FALL FOR THAT. Let it also be written in stone that this “hook” will not make me tune in to her season. I feel like I lost years off of my life when I used to watch every week, mostly because they put about 25 solid mins of content into a 2-3 hour episode every Monday. Nothing proves that more than these “Bachelor GOAT” seasons they’ve been doing. This is where they show an “abbreviated” season over a 3 hour span. If you can give us the gist of a whole season in 3 hours THAT TELLS US RIGHT THERE THAT YOU’RE FLUFFING WAY TOO MUCH. If ABC ever dropped the act and decided to just give us the meat and none of the lettuce, I’d consider tuning back in. But until then, I’M OUT.

becca

PS: This is also hitting the airwaves this week in Bach world…DUH these two broke up…Becca publicly spoke out against Garrett’s tribute to cops amidst the Black Lives Matter movement and said she doesn’t know where their relationship stands. Politics, man. Taking down whirlwind reality TV romances and also the rest of the world.

5. HOLLYWOOD IS ALL REMAKES.

Since Hollywood is the LEAST ORIGINAL group of MF’ers on this planet…yeah that’s right…I said it…here’s what’s being rebooted this week. We’ve got a reboot of Who’s the Boss (this was before my time) but they’re essentially doing EXACTLY what Full House did. The main character played by Alyssa Milano will be raising her own kids with Tony Danza playing grandpa. Sounds riveting. And Dirty Dancing has tapped a sequel where Jennifer Grey will have a role and executive produce. SO WHAT WAS DIRTY DANCING HAVANA NIGHTS? Or the made-for-TV musical starring Abigail Breslin? Stop with the remakes, dudes. SERIOUSLY. Also, I hate to be the one to remind everyone but Patrick Swayze is dead. We bringing back his Ghost in holograph form orrrrrr? Obviously I’m fired TF up because maybe JUST MAYBE there’s fresher ideas that we could be executing here but instead the “talented” brains in H-Wood keep going back to the well and retelling stories that were told in the 80’s and 90’s over and over again. Or making internet videos of celebs singing Imagine during a pandemic. I’ve got a real axe to grind this week and I’m not holding back. CUT THE SHIT.

BONUS – If I had to see it, so do you.

My eyes were popping out of my head and my jaw was on the floor for the entirety of whatever the hell this was. I really thought about not including this abomination to music and also, life, but at the end of the day, my favorite rule is that if I have to live through something and be horrified, everyone else must suffer with me. SO WELCOME TO HELL, Y’ALL! Not only was I downright shocked that this is EVEN ALLOWED TO BE A SONG but on top of that the music video was a nice juicy visual of boobs and butt 24/7. Shout out to Kylie for making a completely useless cameo showing us that she can indeed put one foot in front of the other in a leopard catsuit. YOU GO GURL. Refinery 29 called this song “delightfully nasty” and yet I’m inclined to drop the delightfully after I heard the term “wet and gushy” not once, not twice, but 9 ZILLION TIMES. CLEANUP ON AISLE EVERYWHERE because that’s where I puked my face off to these lyrics. ENJOY THO! Hope your weekend is wet AND gushy.

PS Ellen, you’re still

Top Ten Dance Movie Montages

Since I pretty much air out all of my guilty pleasures on this blog, I don’t even know if I can call them guilty pleasures anymore. So this one’s for my fellow loud and proud CHEEZY dance movie lovers. If there’s a movie centered on the art of dance, you can pretty much bet I’ll be watching. It’s my year-round Hallmark holiday movie, so to speak. A love story mixed in with some bada$$ choreography. I like to pretend that I too, could’ve been a professional dancer but unfortunately my elementary ballet with Miss Louise, followed by 2 years of “Jazz” classes in middle school and ending in a Radio Disney dance team tryout where I couldn’t even remember the steps they taught us five minutes prior ended that dream real quick.

FullSizeR

I learned to accept that my best moves will come out between the hours of 11 PM and 4 AM after approximately 100 bud lights. It’s a shame they never created a feature on my Jersey turnpikin’ skillz at the club in college. (There’s still time…) Either way, I’ve learned to truly appreciate a bangin final dance number or montage, the best of which I’ve outlined below.

10. Footloose

Footloose is rounding out the caboose because to be perfectly honest it was before my time and I’ve never actually seen it. It may dishearten a few to hear that I’ve only seen the remake with Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald. HOWEVER, knowing the history of dance movies, it would be preposterous to leave off the movie centered on a town that BANNED DANCING from this list. So here’s a fun look at when a boy just needs to dance out his feelings, even though he could be arrested for it. #Rebel.

9. Honey

Hoodrat Jessica Alba is the only version I wish to know. From the gold nameplate necklace to the way that she says “we peoples”, I CANNOT LOOK AWAY. Girl gets exclusive beats from DJ Scratch for pete’s sake. And don’t even get me started on how she rocks that “just wear the sleeves” fashion with some baggy camo pants. Honey’s such a good choreographer that she turns someone falling into a dance move! In all seriousness, this movie is #9 because I expect no one who hasn’t seen it yet to ever watch it. It’s embarrassing at best and that’s saying a lot for a movie that features Jadakiss as a “top celebrity”. Bottom line is that you watch this to laugh at Jessica Alba acting street and being the most sought out choreographer in the rap industry. It’s the little things in life that bring me joy. This movie is one of them.

8. Save the Last Dance

Save the Last Dance is that tried and true, mix up a guy from the wrong side of the tracks with a straight laced nerd. I wish Julia Stiles wasn’t such a cream cheese white awkward bird in this movie because 90% if it is cringeworthy. Her wearing a Gap cami and french braids to the club was level 10 embarrassing. A ballet and hip hop mashup should always be appreciated though and that’s why her Juilliard try out made the list. Nothing will ever top your black boyfriend teaching you how to booty pop, grl.

7. High School Musical 3

Although the High School Movie franchise is not technically part of the dance genre, it still counts because Zac Efron’s got moves for daaaays. Real talk, I don’t think I’ve ever faced anything quite as difficult as just choosing one dance number from the 3 HSM movies. Do I go with a Troy Bolton emo solo where he’s contemplating basketball versus theater in the halls of his high school? Tempting for sure. Instead I settled for the duet between these two wildcats. Vanessa Hudgens’ legs look real bangable and it’s no wonder her boyfriend wants to spin her around the rooftop just to ask her to prom. Seriously did you see how effortlessly he swooped her into the air? Sigh.

6. Dirty Dancing

A classic that should never be revisited (I’m talking to you, ABC) and of course the famous lift that every girl wishes her boyfriend could flawlessly perform. Seriously, guys, it shouldn’t be that hard to toss us above your head and hold us there while you spin. May Patrick Swayze and those sassy hips rest in peace as his memory lives on forever through (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life. We owe it all to you.

5. Grease

If I’m gonna slobber all over nobody putting baby in a corner, you bet your ass that Sandy in her bad gurl leathers was making this list. She puts her hussy pants on and is suddenly ready to shimmy it up for her man. I’m only a little jelly of her legs in those pants. Ok fine I’m a lot jelly. (If you’re noticing a trend here with me drooling over every female leads legs, you’re not wrong.) Everyone whose anyone knows that the shake shack is the best part of this routine and it’s not even up for debate.

4. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

We’ve now arrived at one of the most underrated 80’s dance flicks of all time. SJP and Helen Hunt in their infant years when they were fresh on the Hollywood scene. If you haven’t seen this movie I suggest you watch it immediately if you want to be respected as a theatrical dance movie aficionado. SJP is a catholic school girl with a nazi dad and her counter part is OBV a bad boy but they become dance partners competing for a spot as COVETED Dance TV regulars. Although the tryouts and the final DTV competition are stellar in their own right, it would’ve been an injustice not to include this VERY 80’s dance/falling in love montage from the middle of the movie. My sister used to be so obsessed with this scene that she would rewind the ole VHS and replay it roughly 15 times before we could move on to the rest of the movie. Enjoy the classic beach silhouette lift and throwback Pepsi can mixed in with lots and lots of gymnastics.

3. Step Up 2 The Streets

It may surprise you that I don’t have the original Step Up and the spark of Channing and Jenna’s love on here. I like to toss in a curveball every once in a while to keep everyone on their toes. Here’s the second installment (every Step Up that follows this are white hot garbage) where having a dance crew and performing out on the streets is WAY cooler than getting into some lame arts school. They prove it too by dancing outside to trunk speakers IN THE RAIN. Whoa. The reason this dance is so high on the  list can pretty much be narrowed down to one baller move and that is OBVIOUSLY when what’s his face does the heart beat over what’s her face. I’m not proud of it but I spent far too much time one night in college trying to perfect that move with one of my roommates. Unfortunately rhythm is necessary for nailing that to a beat, but whatever. A for effort.

2. Magic Mike

This one’s for all my LAAADIEZZZZZ. (I mean, technically they all are, but we’ll pretend it’s just this one) Essentially the only takeaway from Magic Mike is the Pony dance and that’s pretty freaking obvious. I don’t really think I need to say anything else.

1. Center Stage

The queen bee of dance movies is Center Stage. They barely even hired actors for this, they just straight up trolled the American Ballet Company for dancers to play themselves. Never did I ever think a ballet performance could be interesting enough to contain a saucy sex scene but that’s just what Cooper, bad boy of ballet, does. This performance was 10 minutes long and I am continuously riveted for every single minute. Boys fighting over a girl, motorcycles onstage, all the way to her flawless red lip, dreadlocks finale. WHAT A WHIRLWIND. This dance number has everything I could have ever hoped and dreamed and that’s why it’s the GOAT. Even I was like hey, should I maybe become a ballerina by the end of it. Then I remembered how they basically chop their toes off to stand on wooden blocks for 90% of every day and I was out. PS do NOT try to make boys watch this movie. They will revolt and ruin every precious moment of this badass final dance. Tough stuff, lesson learned.

Week of 4/24/17

1. Happy Birthday to me, from Harry Week.

Harry + James 43v3r, beginning May 15th, the day that I was born into this world. WHAT CRAZY ANTICS WILL THEY GET INTO?! You bet your bottom dollar I’m about to find out. I’m so excited that I’m not even thinking about how my sister, brother in law and boyf collectively RUINED his SNL appearance for me by continuously asking why I thought he was attractive. I’m choosing to ignore that STUPID question and get ready for new music and new lawlzzzz from this dynamic duo. PS: I lied. I’m not going to ignore that stupid question. Just look no further than the first three gifs I found on google. Any mood-Harry is sexy. Argument over.

2. Bye, Farmer Chris.

soulesmugshot

I can’t with the Bach contestants and how they treat their lives like a boozy adult summer camp. Go on dancing with the stars, “write” a book, promote MVMT watches on InstaG, go to paradise for 3 weeks to bang other bach family members #incest. Rinse, repeat. Well it looks like Farmer Chris done F’ed that up for himself. In the sketchiest recount of an accident I’ve ever heard apparently two trucks fell in a ditch and the driver of the other vehicle died. Then Chris ran away and hid at someone’s house until the cops provided a warrant to drag his ass to jail, where he took this v sober mugshot. YIKES. What would Chris Harrison say?

3. Bye, Dirty Dancing.

I previously shit all over this casting job when it was announced but now that they’ve actually released footage it deserves to be re-dumped on. Why ruin a classic? This seriously looks terrible and the fact that it’s a made for TV movie says everything. Yes that’s right, calling it a “great television event” doesn’t change the fact that it’s a higher budget Lifetime movie. Don’t you dare disgrace Patrick Swayze and his magic hips like that. They’re sambaing in his grave as he ROLLS OVER.

4. Hi, Blake & Ryan.

blaketime100

Blake & Ryan hit the red carpet making me uncontrollably drool all over and I needed to talk about it obviously. This dress is pretty ugly but it’s Blake and I still gasped when I saw her. That’s all. Carry on.

5. Don’t trust Ja Rule to organize a festival.

Ja created Fyre Festival on an island in the Bahamas where tickets were like 1200 bucks and he promoted it with a bunch of models on yachts but like guess what? It was a heaping pile of hot garbage. Or in the words of every update from it today: MASS CHAOS! It’s a good thing the target audience for this shitshow wasn’t millennials addicted to social media… oh wait…

fyrefestival

Definitely looks like a once in a lifetime experience! Hey Ja Rule, how about you stop pretending you’re the next music festival mogul and get back to popping out bangerz with Ashanti. The jig is up. You’re embarrassing yourself. Also, not to be glossed over–anyone who bought tickets to this event based on a rap music video promo with models shaking their T&A:

BRING US INTO THE WEEKEND JA!

Week of 2/22/16

Happy Friday and Happy Full House day. Full disclosure, I’m on episode 4 of Fuller House (“working” from home) and it’s ROUGH. Guess they didn’t want to take my advice to bring back Tommy Page or Rusty. Spoiler alert: they did reference the “dad” song, which gave me a chuckle. The rest did not. So that really put a damper on my weekend.

1. Put Baby in the Corner, Seriously. I last reported about the Dirty Dancing remake when I learned that Abigail Breslin was cast as Baby and whined about it to the world. Welp, I’m whining even more now because they’ve cast Johnny and he’s all abs. His credits include tossing Pink around in a super dramats music video like she was a stuffed animal, and some theater things…but more importantly, his 100-pack that was shoved in my face real hard. So I say stick Baby in the corner and do a solo number with your shirt off. That’s how you get ratings. You’re welcome world.

Screen Shot 2016-02-25 at 8.41.05 PM

(Seriously, watch this video, it’s real impressive.)

2. Heeeeeeere’s BRUCEY. You know how the internet loves to do that thing where they find an actor that was pre-puberty and probably a little chubby and awkward and then show us that they’re an attractive human today? (ahem, Neville Longbottom.) Well they did just that with good ole Bruce Bogtrotter. Known for annihilating an entire chocolate cake onstage to the chants of his fellow classmates, Bruce was probably my childhood hero. In fact, I’ve pretty much lived my entire life looking just like him after I’ve finished a meal. Because you haven’t really eaten anything until you feel like you’re going to boot all over the chokey, amirite?

youcandoitbruce

ANYWHO, now for the big reveal, he’s in his thirties now and like, a normal man without a weight problem. Some might say he’s a cutie. (Can’t say the same for Matilda these days…)

Screen Shot 2016-02-25 at 8.36.49 PM

3. Demi’s got pipes.

I get the feeling that Demi takes a lot of hate for getting her start on Disney and then quickly spiraling into a coke-fueled rehab sitch, but I’m here to point out that there’s really no need to hate Demi because she’s got a voice like whoa. She proves it a lot but I feel like there’s no better proof than when she rips a little Xtina impression and brings us all to church. Plus, anyone who can perfect a Fetty Wap impersonation is good in my book.

4. Baewatch. Baywatch has begun filming and Zac Efron is in it. Need I say more?

5. Two Ellens for the price of one.

Ellen doesn’t properly get made fun of because she has ruled daytime television ever since Oprah retired to do a bunch of Weight Watchers commercials about how much she loves bread. Thanks to Kate McKinnon and her obnoxious “I’m Ellen” sketch, we get to see someone poke fun at Ellen on her own show. Although, how hard is it really to two step and snap every day at 4pm?

AND THAT’S THE JUice. Right, Robert?

1. Nominations for everyone but Omarion singing about buhholes.

It was nomination week apparently as the noms for Grammy’s, Golden Globes and SAGS were all announced. What’s to be noted about the Grammy’s? Omarion went on a Twitter rant about how this song:

A song with the lyric “But he’s gotta eat the booty like groceries” got snubbed by the most prestigious of musical awards. Who would’ve guessed. (PS I wish Omarion was still singing bump bump bump with the rest of b2k. That was fire flames beats.)

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.31.57 PMScreen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.32.08 PM

Obviously Tay dominated the noms, see full list here!

Golden Globes & SAG‘s (Click for full lists) didn’t peak my interest as much probably because I’m uncultured and watch trash TV and hence don’t know a lot of the shows/movies nominated. Props to Amy Schumer for sneaking Trainwreck into the mix though.

2. A BFF superteam debut.

My heart was aflutter when I saw these pictures. I love Blake Lively. I love Taylor Swift. And now that they’ve found each other I couldn’t be more obsessed with their union. Everyone else in the ever growing T Swift squad can kick rocks compared to Blake. THEY TOOK A SELFIE WITH A ROO. Hey guys, I cradled a baby roo…can I come too?

PS As if Blake Lively could get ANY cooler, she posted this gem today:

#tbt to when Serena Van Der Woodsen and Brandon Walsh were a thing. (Shh don't tell @robynlively 😊😉😝)

3. Chanel #5 will never ever die.

chanel5

Dirty Dancing will be the next live musical act and they’ve cast their baby and I am horrified. After watching this season of Scream Queens and questioning EVERY DAMN WEEK why the worst actress and character in all the land, Chanel #5 narrowly escaped murder, the LAST thing I needed to hear is that she’s snagged a beloved lead role. This time around, I hope they put Baby in the corner and throw a blanket over her for the whole show cause YIKES.

4. The Sims are still a thing?

Carly Rae Jepsen released a song in Simlish. AKA the gibberish that the Sims speak. I’m downright shocked that this is still a game. It was kewl when I was like 11 and playing computer games where you could make the characters have sex was scandal for days. But kids now have like apps for porn and shit…I don’t really see the intrigue with building humans to say and do dirty stuff anymore. Also remember when One Tree Hill tried to make Sims relevant again by having Jamie create a virtual Dan and Uncle Keith “to be friends in cartoon Tree Hill.” Laughs on laughs.

5. Ryan Gosling 4ever.

RyRy hosted SNL last weekend and didn’t disappoint for his first time around. I very rarely watch the whole episode and I did this time and laughed at almost every skit. A lot of times because Ryan caught a case of the giggles, which was adorable but also because the skits were solid too. This was obviously the best for Ryan’s giggles but performance-wise I think we know who dominated here.

Bonus:

What an AGGRESSIVE post breakup move by Ben Affleck here. It’s one thing to have a tat here and there on your bulging muscles. It’s a whole other ball game to turn your entire back into a colorful Phoenix like you’re Harry from 1D.
